ENGLISH FESTIVAL 2016
English Festival
is one of a big event that organized by EFEC in the last period of 2015/2017 to
celebrate the anniversary of the 30 years EFEC.This event aims to improve
English language skills and a sense of competition among high school and
university students in Pekanbaru. This event was held on 28 to 30 November
2016, entitled "Globalize the Culture through English as International
Language". The theme has its own charm, as evidenced by the height of the
competitor who registers from a variety of different Universities and High
School.

excited?? So here it is!! A lot of excitement you'll get at English Festival.
EFEC held several interesting competitions such as debate, speech, scrabble,
acoustic and selfie contest, English Festival also provide food bazaar, book
fairs and bazaars of other sponsors. In this event, participants not only train
the ability to speak English but also can buy snacks and cheap books.
The event has
been held running smoothly. On the first day of opening, All of the organizers,
competitors, and guests who attended were very enthusiastic to follow the
entire events. The event opened with a dance offering from some members and
continued with speeches from Faisal Habibi as CO English Festival, Andika Satya
as Chief of EFEC, Speech from the Governor of students and the official opening
by the Vice Dean III Rev. Mr. Hamidi. After That, the event was followed by
debate competition between university and
high school students.
On the second
day, the competition went to the next section. Starting from the semi-final
debate, speech contest and acoustic competition at the end.
On the last day,
EFEC English Festival closes with some interesting events hosted by member EFEC sist Rizky Pasu and Pipin. At
the end of ceremony, in addition to invite all participants and guests, EFEC
also invited the alumni as well as bring in a handsome foreigner from Canada as
the performers.
This event begins
with the cutting tumpeng as gratitude
for the achievement EFEC for 30th years by the core committee with
the Governor EFEC period 2015-2016 Faculty of Economics. The
event continued with EFEC Magazine Launching by Public Relation which is a
special gift on birthday EFEC this year. This
magazine is the first magazine in Riau University by using the English
language. Therefore,
the magazine received appreciation from Deputy Dean 3 and guest. English
Festival more interesting with dance performances for this event.
In the end, EFEC
showed their solidarity by doing manniquine challenge and photos with the
committee. The
entire committee consisting of members of EFEC period 2015/2016 and newbie so
excited, English Festival is the last event for EFEC period 205/2017 and that’s
realy memorable. Work haard never betrayed result. See you next year! 😃
